A joint research paper by JIJ Inc. researchers Wai-Hong Tam and Hiromichi Matsuyama, together with Dr. Reza Safari of the German Aerospace Center (DLR), received Second Prize in the poster session at the "Quantinuum June 2026 Symposium," hosted by Quantinuum K.K.The Quantinuum June 2026 Symposium brought together researchers and industry experts to discuss the latest advances and future directions in quantum computing. The event covered topics including quantum-classical hybrid computing, quantum error correction, quantum chemistry, and life sciences applications, and was held on June 2–3, 2026, at the Ito International Research Center, The University of Tokyo.The awarded research proposes Geometric Quantum Physics-Informed Neural Networks (GQPINNs), a new method that incorporates the symmetries of a target differential equation directly into the quantum circuit architecture of quantum physics-informed neural networks (QPINNs). The approach enables high-accuracy solutions with significantly fewer trainable parameters.
